Dear Members,
As we approach the end of a vibrant summer, it’s clear that the economic challenges we face, particularly in the real estate market, have been tough on us all. However, I am deeply inspired by the resilience and determination of our CTCC members. Your hard work and dedication to maintaining momentum in your businesses and within our community are truly commendable.
Our Women’s Committee continues to lead by example, having hosted a successful networking event on July 24th, featuring two outstanding guest speakers. The committee is now gearing up for their third networking event in November, further strengthening the bonds within our community.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting lineup of events that reflect the dynamic spirit of the CTCC:
Golf Classic on September 10th: A perfect opportunity to network and unwind.
3rd Quarterly Meeting on September 11th: A chance to share insights and updates as we navigate these challenging times.
AI Training on September 18th: An essential session to keep our members at the forefront of technological advancements.
Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 26th: A pivotal event to review our progress and set the course for the future.
Philanthropy remains at the heart of our mission. I am pleased to announce that our annual Radiothon in support of the Scarborough Health Network (SHN) Foundation is scheduled for September 25th. Your participation and support are crucial as we come together to give back to our community.
Let’s continue to push forward, supporting each other and our community through these challenging times. Together, we will overcome and thrive.
Warm regards,Murali Sivaguru
President

On September 25, 2024, Scarborough Health Network (SHN) Foundation and the Canadian Tamils’ Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Tamil Radiothon. This important event will unite our community for a day of education and awareness for SHN’s exceptional care while raising significant funds to directly impact our three Scarborough hospitals — Centenary, General and Birchmount — and the local patients and families who rely on them.
The Tamil Radiothon, will be live-to-air on EAST FM 102.7 and will feature interviews with patients, staff and physicians, community leaders, partners, and volunteers to inspire the community to help shape the future of healthcare in Scarborough through their donations.
The Love, Scarborough campaign is raising awareness and donations to upgrade and innovate our hospitals, and the Tamil Radiothon is part of this historic movement.
Our goal for the 2024 Tamil Radiothon is $200,000, which will directly support the Love, Scarborough campaign and help SHN purchase urgently needed medical equipment.
You can show your love and help us get one step closer to achieving our goal by becoming a sponsor today!
SHN does more than anyone thought possible, with less than anyone could imagine. Together, let’s imagine what we could do with more.
