Patricia Peter is an accomplished entrepreneur with a rich and diverse career spanning over two decades. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Bank Management from the University of Madras, India, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Service Underwriting from Seneca College, Patricia has cultivated her expertise across multiple domains. With over 18 years of specialized experience in Real Estate Sales, Finance, and life insurance sales, she has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities. In her previous roles, Patricia served as the President of MN Mortgage Corporation and excelled as a Managing Partner at Reliance Heating & Cooling Ltd., where she showcased her prowess in both financial management and operational leadership. Currently, Patricia plays an integral role in the funeral service industry in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), holding positions as a Licensed Funeral Preplanning Director and Family Service Counselor at Lotus Funeral Home, Ogden Funeral Home and Kitchener Funeral Home and Crematorium. Leveraging her extensive knowledge as a Licensed Life Insurance Advisor, she provides invaluable support to clients during critical life stages.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Patricia is deeply committed to community service. She actively participates as a member of the Catholic Women’s League and served as a Mentor for the Centre for Immigrant and Community Services, exemplifying her dedication to supporting marginalized communities in their integration journey. Furthermore, Patricia holds influential leadership positions within the Tamil community, currently serving as the President of Our Lady

Vice President Finance
Suresh Tharmalingam has dedicated his last 15 years to serving the community as a Mortgage Agent, offering both residential and commercial mortgage services. His work has supported countless individuals in achieving their financial goals. However, his true passion lies in community service and volunteering.
Suresh currently serves as the Director of the Canadian Tamils’ Chamber
of Commerce (CTCC) for the 2023/24 term. His leadership and expertise have been instrumental inmaintaining the chamber’s prestige within the community.
For over 11 years, Suresh has also played a pivotal role in the Association of Sri Lankan Graduates of Canada (ASGC), an organization dedicated to supporting the Sri Lankan community through hosting various events such as annual workshops to guide high school students in choosing the right post-secondary educational paths. His devoted involvement in these programs reflects his strong commitment to education and youth empowerment. In addition, Suresh has been a committee member of the City of Markham’s Ratepayers Association.
His outstanding leadership was further exemplified during his tenure as President of the University of Moratuwa Tamil Alumni Association of Canada, where he served for two full terms. His long-standing service as an Executive Committee member has further strengthened the association’s mission and reach.
In 2024, Suresh will be part of the Youth Leadership Program in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, an initiative led by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jaffna. The program aims to develop leadership skills in students aged 13 to 15. Suresh, alongside other professionals from across the globe, will help guide the first batch of participants starting in November 2024.
Suresh’s dedication to volunteering has earned him notable recognition, including receiving the Ontario Volunteer Service Award twice from the Ontario Provincial Government. His commitment to both his clients and the community is unwavering, and he continues to excel in providing outstanding support in all his endeavours.

Christen Seevaratnam is a dedicated Licensed Funeral Director helping families during most vulnerable time. She is the first Tamil woman to hold this position in Canada. Christeen is compassionate, meticulous and organized. Her services range from funeral planning, services, burial and cremation services. She can help you make decisions and support you as you grieve the loss of your loved ones. Christeen volunteers her time supporting many community organizations, serves as a board member and as a generous sponsor for the past several years. She served as a board of director of Canadian Tamil Congress, Canadian Tamils Chamber of Commerce, The Tamils’ Catholic Community of Toronto and Board of Director at MTCC 999 for the Condominium Corporation (Building 330 Mccowan Road, Toronto) in various capacities.
Some of her key volunteer initiatives include co-chairing the Tamil Canadian walk-a-thon in support of Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, organizing the Annual Midland Shrine Pilgrimage, hosting International Women’s Day and celebrating women empowerment and achievements. Christeen is very passionate about helping people and especially those who are vulnerable and in need. Her contributions to the Tamil community through various organizations is highly commendable and her dedication and guidance has helped many organizations to succeed.
In recognition of her contribution and tireless services to the community, Government of Ontario has recognized Christeen with the prestigious Volunteer Service Award. She is certainly an asset to the community.

Ms.Kanchana Thuraisingham is an amazing, versatile socially conscious woman. Gifted and accomplished when it comes to community work. Kanchana studied at Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, Sri Lanka. She is a Government Scholar who went to the University of Pune from Sri Lanka and completed her Bachelor of Commerce Hons. Degree in ’90s. After coming to Canada in 1992, her perspective changed and she switched her career toward Community work.
She has been the Past President of HFC PPA Canada and continues to be on the advisory committee. Founding Director of Sri Lankan Canadian Community Services. Community Champion of Diversity & Inclusion Charter of Peel. Part of Poverty Strategy Group Member of United Way of Peel South Asian Council Country Chair Carassauga Festivals of Culture. Kanchana also worked as a Frontline counsellor at Victim Services of Peel. As a certified Crisis Counsellor, she has established, Healthy Minds Counselling and Consulting Services in Markham, Ontario.
Kanchana Thuraisingham gives her experience and expertise to the upcoming non-profits as a consultant. Being a long-standing member of CTCC, she has volunteered and participated in numerous activities. Kanchana is a professional who believes in walking the talk to make a difference.

Rahulan Sana is a marine engineer by profession. Currently, he is self-employed as the founder and CEO of Miniss Canada Inc. since 1988. The company is mainly involved in international trade, digital marketing, and media advertising sales and marketing.
As a media professional, he has been managing sales and marketing for both mainstream and local clients in local media for the past 28 years. He was the first person to start the daily two- hour Tamil TV (TVT) with Asian Television Network.
Rahulan Sana joined CTCC in 1993 and served as a Director from 1994 to 1996. Later, he held the position of Vice President – Community Relations from 2018 to 2019. He is confident, highly organized, friendly, approachable, and a neutral person.

Originally hailing from Chavakachcheri, Sri Lanka, Mahen pursued his education at Chavakachcheri Hindu College and obtained a Computer Diploma before immigrating to Canada in 1999. Despite his professional success, his greatest source of pride and joy comes from his family. Mahen cherishes spending quality time with his beloved wife, two daughters, and son, who remain the heart of his life.

Ken was a financial analyst who was designated as an Associate of the Institute of Canadian Bankers in 1998 and has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is licensed by Financial Services Commission of Ontario and is also a member of both the Toronto Real Estate Board and the Real Estate Council of Ontario.
Along with being a diligent member in several social, cultural, and political organizations and boards in Toronto, including President of the Canadian Tamils Chamber of Commerce a voluntary non-profit organization that promotes volunteerism and entrepreneurship in Canada.
A former candidate of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party in Scarborough Guildwood, Ken enjoys working on community projects. He actively volunteers to host Tamil events and TV shows. Ken was Awarded 10 years Community Services Award by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.
He is currently attached to the Re/Max Community Realty sales force and attached to Life100 Insurance and Investments as a Director of Business Development in Toronto. A proud father of two children.
