Dear Members,
As we embark on another exciting month, it is with immense gratitude that I extend my heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors who have generously committed to supporting us throughout the year. Your unwavering support is the backbone of our organization, and we truly appreciate your dedication to our shared goals.
I am also delighted to acknowledge the incredible support from our members and corporate members. Your engagement and enthusiasm continue to drive the success of our community, and we are grateful for your ongoing commitment.
I am thrilled to announce the launch of our monthly networking event, “After 5.” Responding to your requests, this event aims to provide a relaxed and enjoyable platform for members to connect, collaborate, and foster meaningful relationships. Our first “After 5” gathering is scheduled for February 22nd, and I look forward to meeting many of you there.
In line with our commitment to empowering and celebrating women in business, we are excited to announce our International Women’s Day Expo on March 8th at the Kennedy Convention Centre. This event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase and promote businesses led by remarkable women. I encourage all members to participate and show your support for this empowering initiative.
Save the date for another highlight of the year – our highly anticipated Awards Gala night on April 20th. Nominations are now open for the prestigious awards, and we invite you to submit your recommendations. This is a chance to recognize outstanding contributions within our Tamil community and celebrate the achievements of our members.
Your participation and engagement are crucial to the success of these events. I encourage each one of you to get involved, whether by attending the “After 5” networking event, supporting the International Women’s Day Expo, or submitting your nominations for the Awards Gala.

Forum with Ambassador Eric Walsh
We are thrilled to share the success of our recent panel discussion, “Responsibly Revitalising Homeland Economies,” held on January 24 at the CTCC Business Centre.
President Murali Sivaguru extended a warm welcome to everyone, setting the stage for an evening filled with insights and opportunities. Kumaran Nadesan, Co-Founder and Deputy Chairman of 369 Global, eloquently introduced the event, setting the tone for the engaging discussions that followed.
Ambassador Eric Walsh, Canada’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, took the stage and delivered a wealth of valuable information.
Forum with Dean Surenthirakumaran
We are delighted to share with you the success of the forum we hosted on Feb 11th with Prof. Surenthirakumaran, the Dean of the Jaffna Medical Faculty. The event was insightful, and Dean Surenthirakumaran provided valuable information on how our diaspora can actively participate in and contribute to the progress of the Medical Faculty in University of Jaffna. Here are some key highlights from the session:
· Role of a University
· Decreasing birth rate and increased death in the Northern Province
· Contribution to Global Health
· Jaffna Healthy City Project by WHO
· Current Collaborations with Other UK Universities.
· Need for Clinical Genetic Unit, Mammogram Unit, etc

· Technical Partnership and Knowledge Sharing
Our corporate member Dr. M. Mylashan and the JMFOA Canada, an Alumni association for doctors who graduated from the University of Jaffna and live in Canada, facilitated, and have invited many of their members to the event.
