President – Santha Panchalingam

Santha is a Business Entrepreneur who had his early education at Urumpirai Hindu College in Northern Sri Lanka. He migrated to France in 1982 and worked in France for a period of 5 years. He moved to Canada in 1986 and established his own business and formed his own company named “Santha Maintenance Ltd”, which provides Electrical, Plumbing and Drainage Services. He also undertook Residential and Commercial Renovation work and owned other businesses along with stores like Taco Bell and KFC (Kiss Groups of Company LTD). Santha received a CTCC award in 2002 for ten years of business entrepreneurship. Santha was also the recipient of the Award of Excellence in 2007 from the CTCC for his entrepreneur skills as he commands several leading enterprises among the mainstream market as his customers. Santha is married and the proud father of three daughters. As a business entrepreneur, Santha’s gospel motto in business is to “Do it Once and Do it Right”.

Executive Vice President – Thipan Raj (Parthipan Rajandran)

Thipan Raj (Parthipan Rajandran) is a leading Entrepreneur, Event organizer and Realtor who as a community activist focuses on his strengths to support individuals in order that they may achieve their goals and dreams. Thipan has a passion towards volunteerism and a deep interest in helping those in need. He has dedicated himself towards community involvement and realizes the need for contributing towards social services in the community. He always believes that community service is the backbone to one’s happiness in a person’s personal life while offering his professional services to the public. He is also a firm believer that educational programs help to enhance the learning levels of children, especially in the war affected areas in Sri Lanka and has offered his time and energy to a project related to this programme.

Vice President – Finance – Vina Devadas

Vina Devadas is a Lawyer cum Accountant who focuses his skill coupled with experience in accounting related fields of law namely Tax Law, Business Law and Employment Law. In addition, his law firm deals in real estate law, family law and wills. He worked earlier as Senior Financial Analyst / Financial Analyst at CGI in Toronto for 6 years. Previously he functioned as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) for 8 years. Devadas is a Chartered Professional Accountant of Ontario and an Associate Member of CIMA United Kingdom. He obtained his MBA Degree with Merit from the University of Colombo. Devadas is actively involved in the community by way of sponsorships for events through his Law firm. He is the Immediate Past President of the Sri Lankan Accountants’ Association of Canada (SAAC) and is also the President of the Araly Cultural Organization, Canada. Devadas has also engaged himself in activities of his old schools, namely Royal College and Hindu College in Colombo.

Vice President – Internal Affairs – Rajasri Sriskandarajah

Rajasri has been serving for over 30 years making companies to become financially healthy, wealthy and wise. Using his years of experience, Raj has been heading his Accounting and Corporate Business Advisory practice under the brand name of “Rajasri CPA” as well as serving as a franchise partner of Padgett Business Services. Raj is an author of the forthcoming book “What It Takes To Win” with Brian Tracy who is one of America’s leading management and sales trainer. Raj received his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, earned his ACMA and CGMA in Management Accounting from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, London, England, was admitted as a Certified General Accountant by CGA, Ontario, Canada and holds his membership with CPA – Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Canada. Raj is family oriented and married to his partner for 25 years with two kids who are currently pursuing professional studies in the universities. He is a contributing community member serving a variety of communities in his neighbourhood including CTCC, through his place of worship and via Rotary International.

Vice President – Membership – Balamurale Nagarajah

Realtor Balamurale Nagarajah (Balan Homes) is a community activist and his strengths include supporting individuals, negotiating, financing, etc. He has an excessive passion for volunteering and has done so for a variety of organizations. He also participates in many other social services and is always willing to help those in need. He is proud being a long-term member of CTCC as he has dedicated over 10 years of service to this organization. His greatest strengths are his compassion for others and his ability to unite people together. With the necessary support, he will bring these strengths to the CTCC. Balan, as he is more popularly known among his friends and contacts is very excited and encouraged to bring a new perspective and generation of leadership to the Chamber. He is also looking forward to bringing more young entrepreneurs to CTCC as members.

Vice President – Community Relations – Rahulan Sana

Rahulan Sana is a Marine and Power engineer by profession. He is self-employed and is the founder and CEO of Miniss Canada Inc. since 1988. Miniss is an organization which deals mainly with International trade, media advertising, sales and marketing. Rahulan’s passion for communication has taken him to handle sales and marketing for mainstream clients and local clients for CMR and TVI for the last 15 years. CMR and TVI are two community based TV and Radio stations. His desire and passion towards community involvement made him join CTCC in 1993.As a Director of this premier and prestigious Business Chamber of the Canadian Tamil community, Rahulan has contributed his skill and experience from 1994 to 1996.Rahulan displays confidence, organizational talent, friendly approach and maintains neutrality in his thinking and actions.

Director – Patricia Peter

Patricia Peter is an entrepreneur who has been a part of multiple independent business ventures over the past 20 years. Patricia holds a bachelor’s degree in Bank Management from the University of Madras, India and a Postgraduate diploma in Financial Service Underwriting from Seneca College. She has had more than 15 years of experience in Real Estate Sales and Finance. She was former President of MN Mortgage Corporation and has been a director of Reliance Heating & Cooling Ltd. Patricia is currently associated with Lotus Funeral Home and Ogden Funeral Home in GTA as a Licensed Funeral Preplanning Director and After Care Advisor. She is also a Licensed Life Insurance Advisor, a member of the Catholic women’s league and Mentor for the Centre for Immigrant and Community Services, Markham She has been an active member of the CTCC since 2006 and now holds the position as a Director of the CTCC Board. Patricia seems to perfectly fit Simone Signoret’s description of a woman “One is not born, but rather becomes a woman”.

Director – (Ari )Athymoorthy Ariaran, CPA, CGA

Ari Ariaran is a Chartered Professional Accountant who served in many private sector organizations as a leader in Accounting, Finance and participating in the organization’s decision-making process. He presently owns a public practice firm in Scarborough that serves a very large business community within the GTA, providing accounting services and taxation needs. His clientele ranges from personal tax requests to large corporations. Ariaran is involved in many initiatives within the community. In 2003, along with four of his friends he founded the Sri Lankan Accountants Association of Canada (SAAC) which serves the community and has been its President, Vice President and Secretary-the position which he currently holds now. He has volunteered with various charities such as Thamil Isai Kalamanram of Ontario where he was an active board member and currently serves as the internal auditor. For the past 15 years he has served as the Treasurer for the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of Middlefield. He was also the first President when Vadaliyaddippu Ontrium and has been actively involved in its social activities.

Director – Murali Sivaguru

With his experience in Hertz Canada Limited for almost 30 years and his exceptional management expertise and interpersonal skills, Murali Sivaguru is now the owner of two successful businesses. Murali is leadership minded and has an active interest in communication.Through this aptitude for leadership and communication, Murali efficiently manages his own Hertz branch in Mississauga. His capacity for multi-tasking and organization allows for him to run a gas station in Wingham Ontario along with training and recruitment of several employees. Despite his busy schedule, Murali takes the time to give back to his community. As a coach of the Boys Unionville-Milliken Soccer Club, he provides young adolescents with the opportunity to learn the essential skills of soccer.

Past President – Dilani Gunarajah

Dilani Gunarajah, Barrister and Solicitor, was a lawyer from Sri Lanka who was called to the Bar in Ontario in July 2005.Dilani started her own law practice named Dilani Gunarajah Law Office. Dilani works tirelessly to resolve her clients’ issues in a cost-efficient and effective manner. Dilani served as a Director at the Family Law Association in 2014 and has been assisting self-represented family clients as a Family Duty Counsel at the Newmarket Court House. She has also served as Director at the West Scarborough Community Legal Services and was employed at the Ministry of Attorney – General office for over a decade.
Dilani was involved with several community organizations conducting seminars on issues relating to Family Law, and Estate Law. Dilani volunteered her time to the CTCC,held progressive positions as a Director, Vice-President – Membership, Vice-President – Finance, Executive Vice President and finally President, the first woman President in the Chamber’s history. These positions have provided her with leadership qualities and ability to function effectively under pressure. She works hard to give the best of herself to her clients, her community and the family she adores.
